Sort a new phone photo import separately

Keep the incoming batch separate

For an archive of 30,000 old photos and 1000 new ones, copy the new batch into a folder such as D:\Photos\ToSort\2026-09. Add it and wait for scanning to finish.

Sort only this batch

Use the folder/subfolder filter, search for receipts or documents and review selections manually. Prepare and check the move plan. Files moved outside that folder no longer match the same folder scope.

Alternative: Latest import or date added

If importing into the main archive, complete work on Latest import before another import changes it. Date-added ranges refer to index additions, not capture or file modification times; combine with a folder if other batches were added in that period. Back up and review hard-to-read documents because AI can make mistakes.
